History of Mazuma
September 1994: Lucy and Sophie met aged 11 while trying to avoid cross-country running. They became friends
October 2001: Sophie joined L'Oreal as a payroll clerk, moving up to trainee accountant in September 2003
October 2003: Lucy worked at Jury's Cardiff Hotel as purchase ledger clerk
August 2004: Lucy moved to Cardiff council as accounts assistant, working her way up to senior finance analyst by July 2005
September 2005: Sophie joined FIS as assistant accountant
October 2005: While keeping her day job, Lucy started up Mazuma from her bedroom
December 2005: Sophie joined Mazuma, also part time
July 2006: Lucy and Sophie completed their AAT qualifications and turned Mazuma into an incorporated company. They quit their day jobs
December 2006: Mazuma moved into its first offices
February 2007: Mazuma took on its first member of staff
May 2007: Fast-growing Mazuma moved into even larger offices
June 2007: Mazuma won the Wales Shell Livewire Entrepreneur of the Year award
September 2007: Mazuma is a finalist in Startups Awards, in 'Best service business' and 'Women in business' categories
October 2007: Mazuma wins the Wales Chamber 'Most promising new business' award
