We provide the Welsh Government Permanent Secretary and the relevant Directors General with a range of independent and objective assurance services about the effectiveness of its risk management, control and governance processes. As the Audit Authority for Wales, we also provide assurances that European Funding assistance received by the Welsh Government and its sponsored bodies complies with EC Regulations.
To take advantage of these opportunities, you will be a qualified member of a recognised professional body (PIIA, CMIIA, CCAB or equivalent). You will also be able to demonstrate an ability to perform financial and systems auditing, and apply risk assessment techniques.
Successful candidates should be prepared to be posted to Cardiff or Merthyr Tydfil. You will also be required to undertake some travel within Wales in order to fulfil the role. Occasional travel elsewhere in the UK and Europe may also be necessary.
Recruitment will be at the minimum of the pay band. An audit allowance of up to £5,667 is currently available depending on qualification held, pending review.
