Reporting to the Head of Finance Audit and Risk you will have responsibility for a team of 5 including other qualified accountants, whose focus is on the day to day management of Audit and Reconciliations, specifically relating to Royalties.
Talent Accounting in BBC Worldwide is responsible for an annual spend of c£90m with more than 150,000 live contracts across BBC Worldwide Globally. As the Finance and Audit Manager you will lead the design, coordination and provision of month-end deliverables from Talent Accounting and Rights Management to your internal stakeholders. These will include reconciliation of key ledgers, reconciliation of key IT systems (e.g. SAP, CASPAR, SPS and ACON) and reports that support accruals.

Financial reporting, governance:
- -Maintain the department’s financial reporting regime including key intra and inter departmental reconciliation between the royalty, financial systems and other systems.
-Conduct detailed reviews of all finance deliverables to ensure their completeness, accuracy and relevancy to the recipients.
-Continuous improvement of finance deliverables to meet changing business requirements and mitigate risks thus ensuring transactions relating to Talent Accounting and Rights are appropriately reflected in the financial accounts.
-Provide operational and financial support to all key stakeholders including the finance community for royalty transactions.
-Take ownership of the audit plan ensuring that audit resource is allocated appropriately to deliver the plan; necessary communication is made with other BBCW and BBC teams to allow audits to be progressed according to agreed timescales.
-Ensure audits are delivered to a high standard including high quality audit working papers, retention of audit evidence and appropriately worded audit reports.
-Verify that recommendations made have been implemented as agreed and on time.
-Ensure audit work programmes are tailored appropriately for each audit and updated to cater for changing risk profile of BBCW and Talent Accounting/Rights Management.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Ideal candidates will have a formal accountancy qualification and experience of working with Royalties / Rights.
In addition they will demonstrate excellent attention to detail with particular experience of reviewing and/or compiling reconciliations. Be able to provide examples of working with a structured and methodical approach to tasks and have the ability to identify risk and recommend actions to mitigate these.
A proven track record of building and developing effective working relationships, excellent communication and good problem solving skills are essential.
Further consideration will be given to candidates who have an Internal or external audit background, Intermediate SAP and MS Office skills and knowledge.
