Forest YMCA’s work is spread across the London boroughs of Waltham Forest and Redbridge. It is one of the largest direct access hostels in the country and is a registered social housing provider. It currently accommodates more than 290 residents and also provides ‘move on’ accommodation. In addition, Forest YMCA has a large and growing Family and Child Care department, offering out of school care in many locations. Forest YMCA also provides various youth activities to the local community along with gym membership and exercise classes for the public.
Forest YMCA is in a dynamic and growing environment. Today, there are about 120 (FTE) staff and numbers are likely to increase for the foreseeable future.
We are currently recruiting an experienced and professionally qualified Financial Controller to manage the day-to-day activities of the Finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for:
- Accounting and Financial reporting.
- Comprehensive treasury and cash-flow management to deliver day-to-day business activities.
- Budget preparation and monitoring.
- Line Management of 4 staff members in the Finance team.
- VAT returns and the maximisation of the VAT recovery by Forest YMCA.
You will be a qualified accountant with post qualification experience of three years in the preparation of statutory reports, management accounts, treasury management, and staff management. Previous applicants need not apply.
