Further information

A solid foundation. An ambitious future.

Here at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, we have a bold vision for the future. Already one of the UK’s leading teaching Trusts, our goal is to be a truly world-class centre of clinical and academic achievement. A place our families would choose.

Our forward-thinking finance department is right at the heart of that future. As well as managing our clinical, education and R&D budgets, the department is assessing new ways to diversify the Trust’s income through commercial ventures. We’re also aiming to work more closely with clinicians to forge improvements in both patient care and efficiency.

Now’s your opportunity to play a lead role in the development of this experienced, well-respected and high-performing team. Making a key contribution to financial strategies and annual plans that support the Trust’s vision, you will manage, motivate and inspire every member of your team to deliver exceptional results. Of course, we also need you to ensure robust financial management, forecasting, monitoring and reporting to inform major business decisions.

CCAB qualified with substantial experience at senior level gained in a large and complex organisation (ideally within the NHS), you will combine outstanding communication, influencing and leadership skills with the ambition to make a positive impact on our financial resilience. A strong commitment to partnership working is also important, plus the ability to think strategically while balancing the ‘big picture’ with operational details.

For an informal discussion, please phone Alastair Matthews, Finance Director & Deputy CEO on 023 8079 6180.

Closing date: Monday 19th November 2012.
