The Management Accounting team supports the Head of Finance in all aspects of the organisation’s management of expenditure against the approved budget received from DfT, reporting to the Executive Committee and Board; work with directors and other budget holders in managing their individual budgets; and ensure that the organisation complies with its financial reporting duties to DfT.
Specifically, you will be responsible for assisting with the production of monthly financial reports, periodic in-year forecasts and the preparation of the annual budget. Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant, your remit will also include ensuring smooth running of the management reporting to support monthly reviews with Heads of Department.
If you are at least a part qualified management accountant with demonstrable experience of preparing financial reports and assisting with the production of management reports, then we’d like to hear from you. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be key, and you should possess a good knowledge of a range of accounting systems and complex Excel spreadsheets. Knowledge of businesses operating with major contracts would be an advantage.
