Finance Development Analyst

Hampshire£40000 - £45000 per annum + Benefits

Role Purpose

To identify, investigate, plan and deliver tactical solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance pillar. The focus of the role will be on delivering 'one version of the truth' and better planning and forecasting.

Role Objectives

  • Deliver step-change improvements in Finance controls, processes and outputs.
  • Alignment of B&Q corporate P&L to the Kingfisher P&L (common business language).
  • A review of our internal business reporting to remove duplication, contradiction and waste.
  • The creation of a standard 'data dictionary' of KPIs and other terms used in reporting.
  • Introduction of a governance framework for internal reporting to drive consistency.
  • Set up a PIR and quarterly review, refining the process as required.
  • End to end mapping of 'as is' budgeting to highlight conflicts with new business processes.
  • Work with Corporate Finance and other Finance teams to identify opportunities to improve.
  • Recommend a new planning process, working with the Head of Corporate Finance to demonstrate the benefits to all stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinate the transition to the new planning process.
  • Set up a PIR and quarterly review, refining the process as required.

Essential skills

  • The ability to develop a sound understanding of the business beyond finance.
  • Excellent IT skills, with a good working knowledge of MS Excel, SAP Finance and COGNOS.
  • Qualified accountant with broad Finance experience.
