You’ll be accountable for ensuring our mission is accomplished in a timely and cost effective way. Reporting to our Head of Financial Operations, you’ll be responsible for ensuring best value for money from one of our core contracts. Decommissioning work is carried out by Site Licensing Companies (SLCs). You’ll work closely with the Head of Programme, providing advice on every financial aspect of the lifetime plan and you’ll identify and clearly explain the financial implications of key decisions.
You’ll be integral to driving effective delivery. In addition to managing this relationship and providing high level, first point of contact financial support, you’ll undertake financial oversight of up to £0.5bn spend per annum, across a broad range of operations. You’ll assess the accounting impact of changes to the lifetime plan. And you’ll develop a valuable professional network of senior stakeholders in diverse external organisations, including regulators and auditors.
A qualified Member of CCAB, you have a varied track record in financial management, ideally spanning commercial contracting, financial accounting, investment appraisals and business cases. With the commercial acumen to see the bigger picture and assess accurately the implications of different actions, you are able to make confident decisions and solve problems successfully. You will to gather information from, and communicate to, a diverse array of people, and so it is essential that you bring to the role excellent communication and relationship building skills. Willingness to travel is also important.
