Team Leader – Accounts
Harborough District Council is seeking to appoint a team leader within the Accounts team. In this newly created role, it will be the responsibility of your team to drive the development and delivery of a high quality and cost effective financial advice and management service, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance. You will also provide technical advice to the rest of the Finance Team and other colleagues across the organisation.
You will work closely with budget managers and advise and assist them in the day to day running of their Revenue & Capital budgets including the monitoring of expenditure and income, and budget virements.
You will lead and manage your team to ensure they deliver the final accounts and budgets for designated portfolios in accordance with CIPFA’s Code Practice ensuring all related working papers are completed.
You will need to be a Qualified CCAB Accountant with evidence of your CPD. In addition to your experience of preparing budgets, final account working papers and budget monitoring, you will have competent MS Office skills to intermediate level, proven people management experience, including performance management, motivation and development.
You will be highly numerate with an eye for detail and your prioritisation skills will be second to none. Your effective communication and negotiation skills will help you to build effective working relationships and make balanced decisions.
