Based within the School, you will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Dean and other budget holders in achieving their strategic objectives, through the provision of all aspects of financial management. Key responsibilities will include the preparation of monthly management accounts, short and longer term financial planning, the monitoring of performance against budget, and the financial management of on-going research contracts.
You will have substantial relevant management accounting experience and be qualified with a recognised professional accountancy body or studying for the final year. Establishing rapport with customers is of key importance, as is the ability to apply technical and practical experience as an accountant to enable customers to develop awareness of the financial issues of the School. You will be a self-starter and someone who can demonstrate continuous service and process improvement. As part of the wider Management Accounting team, you will be someone with a willingness to share and develop best practice, and undertake cross University initiatives.
