A market leading consumer business is seeking a finance analyst to provide business analysis and financial decision support to finance and commercial teams. This is an exciting opportunity a world famous brand.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
-Delivering monthly financial analysis and explanation of business performance. Develop an in depth understanding of the business results and being able to articulate the key business drivers of performance. Raise any emerging issues or trends and make recommendations on corrective action.
-Monthly financial analysis of the forward forecast and take an active role in addressing gaps to target. Preparation of the Annual Plan and Quarterly Forecast to ensure that plan growth drivers and risks are understood. Preparation of the financial rates used in the forecast and driving improvements in forecast accuracy
-Ensure full financial decision support for all innovation projects and go to market activities (launches, promotions, range monitoring, pricing) within the category
-Price Authorisations for new products and evaluation/authorisation of margin investment opportunities with customers within the key categories.
-Ownership for defining the promotional strategy for the products within the category. Highlighting major cost movements and supporting the business to develop cost recovery strategies.
-Challenge and understand volume assumptions in the demand planning process to ensure all financial exposures are highlighted and minimised
-Close liaison with UK factories and procurement to understand input price variances and risk to the plan, leading the development of cost recovery strategies for the business
-Agree and manage priorities with the team to ensure they are focused on the key activities and deliverables.
The Finance analyst must be accountancy qualified, have strong critical thinking and analytical skills plus have experience within FMCG, retail or leisure. The ability to build rapport with colleagues is critical because the role will involve developing relationships with both finance and non finance personnel.
