The Opportunity:
My client is a world market leader for its products and services within its sector. They stand for innovation, experience and reliability. Due to continued growth the business is now looking to appoint a Financial Controller to join its team within the East Midlands.
The Role:
Your remit will be to support the Operations Director not only with the accurate and timely provision of financial information, but to understand and grow the business in line with the corporate vision. The main responsibilities are:
§ This role requires an individual with an operational bias.
§ Preparation of monthly management finance reports (including P&L and balance sheet) advising the management team on operational financial performance
§ Collation and coordination of annual financial budgets and quarterly forecasts. Utilisation of set budgets and control of such budgets
§ Control of daily/weekly cash flow; liaison with bank(s) and monitoring of facilities and covenants
§ Responsibility for the creation and development of a cost control system with accountability for control levels
§ Constant review of company transactions, looking for discrepancies and working with the management team to put into place training or systems to improve communication, solve problems, prevent errors/mistakes recurring etc…
§ Preparation of annual company secretarial documents (annual returns, filing accounts, etc)
The Candidate:
You will have at least five years post qualification experience. Have a strong commercial acumen, a background in engineering / manufacturing environment would be advantageous. You will be looking for the next step in your career, using your financial experience and commercial skills to develop the business further.
