A company in the Salisbury area of Wiltshire has reserved the services of Hays Senior Finance to exclusively recruit a Group Financial Controller for their organisation.
This AIM Listed Group, operating within the Biotechnology sector, has experienced steady development over the past decade and is now on the cusp of achieving significant international success and is in an expansive phase. The Group operates from four sites, including a central London office, that you would take financial leadership for.
In this role you will be working closely with the Finance Director and Finance Manager and alongside the Executive Directors and senior management team. You will take primary responsibility for overseeing external Plc financial reporting processes, audit management, and technical IFRS compliance, assistance with Group Company Secretarial duties and maintenance of appropriate corporate governance processes.
Overall responsibility for the Finance Manager and his team shall be yours. However, this is currently efficiently managed and you will be predominantly involved with areas that will enhance corporate finance activities and business development projects. You will be tasked with improving the internal budgeting and forecasting process and will also assist with tax planning strategies, financial modelling, risk management, strategic planning and scenario analysis.
To be suitable for this role, you shall be a Qualified Accountant with at least four years post qualified experience, ideally from a public practice audit background - dealing with listed company financial reporting.
You will need thorough knowledge of IFRS and listed company financial reporting/disclosure requirements. Additional experience, desirable but not essential, would be previous Plc Financial Controller experience, exposure to Sarbanes Oxley compliance and/or ERP systems implementation.
