My client, an exciting and expanding lifestyle retailer is looking for a qualified accountant to join their motivated team as their Financial Controller to oversee the smooth running of their finance function ensuring production of timely and accurate Management Information and Financial Accounts.
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will have overall responsibility for implementing tighter processes and controls and subsequently managing the Finance function. The day to day will involve financial accounting, monthly management accounts review, cash-flow, VAT compliance, international group consolidation accounting, budget preparation as well as development and implementation of accounting systems and internal controls.
The Financial Controller will be liaising with other members of the senior leadership team on a monthly basis, managing the business partnering relationships and working with the auditors when required. This person will also be required manage a team of 7-9 people.
As the successful Financial Controller you will be ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified with prior experience of successfully developing and running a finance function with a team. You will have strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to meet all deadlines and work cross-functionally. SME or Private Equity or Venture Capitalist and retail experience is preferred with consumer experience also being considered.
