Head of Audit
Our client is a large organisation in the leisure space that is going through an exciting new period of growth and restructure. As part of this they are looking to bring in a new Head of Audit to ultimately improve the organisation’s operations by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. You will work with the Head of Risk Assurance in developing an independent and risk based, global internal audit plan and oversee the effective completion of planned and unscheduled audits.
The role will take responsibility for all aspects of audit operations to include strategic, financial, IT and operational risk. You will undertake planning activity and resource management of in house and / or 3rd party service provider; lead and develop the audit teams; communicate and track findings to senior management then work jointly with the Business in developing recommendations and plans for remediation with a strategy of innovation, development and continuous improvement for the function.
The successful person for this role will have trained within a large Accountancy firm, be qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA, IIA or equivalent and have at least 5 years experience gained in managing and delivering risk based internal audit and risk management engagements for global organisations. You will have diverse knowledge of key global business areas.
You must show evidence of continuous improvement and demonstrate innovation through the use of the latest techniques of internal audit and risk management with a good working knowledge of UK Corporate Code and relevant EU directives. You will be a dynamic and inspirational person, capable of leading a sizeable audit team and being an ambassador for it across the organisation.
The role can be based from home for periods of time if you wish then in the UK offices in the North West, East Midlands and London, with occasional travel to Europe. This is an exciting time to join a business that is going through a large transformational change program.
