This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established company based in London. The business requires a Financial Controller who has the ability to deal with hands on management accounts as well as being commercially aware and can make key decisions that will impact the business in both Ireland and UK companies.
This is both a hands on and strategic role that covers financial and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, working capital management and transactional processing as well as providing commercial information on job costing, margin and revenue analysis and project productivity and profitability.
The position will require you to undertake a variety of accounts duties, including all aspects of the purchase and sales ledger function Ledger, VAT returns, maintain fixed asset registers, cash book reconciliations, balance sheet reviews/reconciliations (including provisions and accruals) etc; producing detailed monthly management accounts; forecasting; develop/maintain control processes; salary control accounts and presenting management information including cash flow forecasts and reviewing KPI’s
As Financial Controller for the group you will be responsible for a small accounts team ensuring the on-time delivery of the monthly management accounts pack for sign off by the Commercial Finance Director.
This is a multi-faceted finance role requiring someone who is able to develop strong relationships with colleagues from a variety of disciplines within the organisation. As such you will be working as a finance business partner to assist with activities such as project profitability.
This role will also have a wider brief covering resource planning, office management, HR, contract negotiation, client procurement and operational issues.
The position would suit an accountant from a SME background, either qualified or finalist, with the ability to deal with senior colleagues in the business and work as part of a small team. You'll be a strong leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to nurture and develop staff to fulfil their potential.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a management accounts role; have excellent team work skills with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, be able to use initiative and challenge existing processes, be a confident and outgoing person with the ability to influence non-finance staff ; the ability to build key relationships with employees; the means to prioritise a large workload and have a good eye for detail; experience in SUN Accounts, Word and Outlook, with Advanced Excel knowledge essential.
