Working in the Finance Department based at Moulsecoomb you will provide financial advice and support in the management of the university’s Research Projects.
You will manage and coordinate the financial aspects of a portfolio of research grants and contracts for a range of funding bodies ensuring sponsor requirements and university regulations are adhered to.
You will also be involved in the costing of grant applications as well as maintaining project accounts once grants are awarded and approving claims before submission to funders.
You should be a part qualified Accountant (CCAB, equivalent, or qualified by experience) with proficiency in accounting, budget and costing procedures and experience of mainframe computerised accounting systems.
Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel is essential, as is the ability to work systematically and methodically, using your time efficiently whilst meeting deadlines and paying attention to detail with minimum supervision.
Experience of grant or project administration and knowledge of EU or Research Council requirements is desirable.
The post is temporary for approximately nine months to cover a period of maternity leave. Job sharers welcome.
