Deputy Head of Finance

An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Yorkshire and Humber Commissioning Support Unit (CSU) for an experienced and enthusiastic senior finance professional to join a service providing business finance support to a range of NHS clients.
We are looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to manage a very busy team of experienced finance professionals, with specific responsibility for contract monitoring, accounting and performance reporting.
Based in Willerby near the end of the M62, the successful post holder will support the Head of Finance in business planning, financial control, and performance monitoring processes, in particular ensuring CSU and customer statutory, reporting and financial targets are achieved.
A qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience in an NHS management role, you will be a persuasive leader who knows how to motivate staff to be the best they can be to deliver the highest standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
The post holder will directly manage CSU finance team staff, including agreeing personal development plans, coherent objectives, quality assuring outputs and developing professional relationships with current, potential and new customers. You will also be required to work collaboratively with other CSU teams.
Excellent contract negotiation skills are essential, as is an affinity with the CSU’s values and culture.
The closing date for applications is Friday 20th June 2014 (noon). Initial assessments will be held on Tuesday 1st July involving a presentation and observed activity. A panel interview for successful candidates will follow on Friday 4th July.
