A part-time Finance Manager is sought on a 6 month temporary basis by an off-shoot of a leading London-based University. The institution has been independently recognised as being one of Europe’s top 5 and the world’s top 10 universities. They are expanding via a world class new campus and they have recently launched several revenue generative ventures. 
 
This is a newly created role to provide financial support to a newly created business unit. Established to support the delivery of academic-driven commercial projects, the Finance Manager will report the Head of Operations and oversee all the financial operations of the business unit and establishing suitable processes. Duties will include:
·     Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets and variance analysis within strict deadlines.
·     Prepare accounting reports in Oracle along with relevant commentary.
·     Support the processing of invoices by liaising with AR & AP teams.
·     Assist in the reconciliation of sales & purchase ledgers including ForEx.
·     Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers.
·     Contribute to the annual planning and forecasting exercises; prepare the forecasts for Income and Expenditure, Balance sheet and Cash Flow.
·     Assist with answering the queries raised by the Auditors.
 
The ideal candidate for the part-time Finance Manager role will either be a finalist or qualified accountant who has gained strong all round Oracle experience (Hyperion would also be an advantage) and who is adept at supporting a range of non-finance managers. Exposure to establishing / improving controls & processes would be relevant and a proven hands-on approach is also expected. A desire to get stuck-in and work outside of a purely financial remit will also be of benefit.
