Financial Controller- Managed Estate

Robert Half are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with Butcombe Brewing Co, part of the Liberation Group Pubs and Inns to assist in finding a Financial Controller to lead the divisional finance team. Reporting into the Group Finance Director this role will be varied with management of a small team, strategic oversight and contribution to business planning, board reporting, oversight of core finance and month end responsibilities.

Routine /Key responsibilities
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the company , developing, shaping and achieving core business plan objectives
  • Oversight of monthly management accounts including balance sheet and cash flows
  • Management of small finance team
  • Oversight of weekly sales and payroll reporting
  • Oversee the production of monthly financial performance reports to the Executive Team and the Board and the further development of reporting information to meet the ongoing needs of the business
  • Work effectively with other staff across the organisation
  • Oversight and presentation of annual business budgets and ongoing forecasts
  • Presentation of financial reports to the Group Finance Director as required
  • Supporting and working closely with the Managing Director of the division
  • Analysis and oversight reporting of financial performance
  • Oversight of the preparation of annual statutory accounts
  • Liaison with external auditors/tax advisors , suppliers , stakeholders as required


Acquisitions
  • Investment appraisal ( including P & L budgeting , cash flow , IRR )
  • Due Diligence as required
  • Liaison with legal advisors , DD specialists as required
  • Post acquisition integration matters


Key attributes
  • Qualified Accountant with five years + experience
  • Management experience
  • Well organised, ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills - written and oral
  • Commercially aware
  • Experience of multi retail environment & acquisitions.
