We are currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst on a Temporary basis, for a company based in Derby. The Role:
  • Support the Finance Business Analyst in the creation and analysis of forecast scenarios
  • Tracking the changes to the key budget assumptions relating to the portfolio of assets held by the group
  • Assisting the business when assessing new business opportunities through rigorous calculation of investment return metrics
  • Identify with the Finance Business Analyst the changes required to be modelled
  • Maintain clear documentation of the changes made, the reasons for them and supporting documentation (e. new customer offers or revised financing agreements etc.)
  • Ensure a clear audit trail from the current forecast to the resulting scenarios prepared
  • Analyse the changes to the forecast against expectations to ensure that they are calculated correctly
  • Prepare clear summaries of the revised scenarios, including the changes modelled and the impact on the key financial indicators for the Financial Controller and Finance Director
  • Assist the Finance Business Analyst in the routine Budget and forecast preparation as required
  • Work with other members of Finance and the wider business to prepare analysis of new business scenarios, changes to accounting standards and other ad-hoc modelling


Your Profile:
  • Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and preferably degree educated
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Competency in use of Microsoft Office suite of products, with a particular emphasis on using Excel for business modelling
  • Working knowledge of UK corporation tax and IFRS; corporate finance experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills: an effective communicator with finance and non-finance staff
  • Confident, conscientious, self-starter, able to use initiative to analyse and solve problems
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritise and manage workloads in a demanding environment


Salary & Benefits:
  • Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
