Management Accountant

Oxford

£38,000 - £45,000 per annum dependent on experience (pro rata)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new (and growing) health and care provider.  OxFed is a new and growing healthcare organisation and, as our first Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing our financial management.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will operate with a great deal of autonomy.  You will have the experience and necessary gravitas to manage the organisation’s finances. You will be self-motivated with robust experience across all aspects of financial management and oversight.  You will be flexible and hands on, prepared to get involved in everything as necessary – from the detail of a single transaction through to overseeing the annual accounts.

As a qualified accountant, you will evolve our approach and put in place new processes and reporting, developing financial models and managing the day to day financial running of the organisation.  You will keep a keen eye on our financial sustainability, constantly seeking innovative opportunities to diversify our income streams and reduce our financial risk, in order to support the organisation in achieving its healthcare aims.  You will have demonstrable experience of looking beyond the headline numbers, supporting the Executive Team to consider impact and opportunities across areas such as staff reward and recognition, opportunity costs and prioritisation. Understanding that resources are finite, you will constantly seek ways to realise savings, in order to ensure the organisation can do even more for our members and patients.

A hands-on team player, you will lead our financial management, processes and reporting, ensuring our financial health is sound. You may also provide mentoring and support to other staff and to our member practices, providing them with practical help and advice to improve their own financial management and, as a result, that of general practice and primary care in the City.

This role offers the post holder the opportunity to be involved at the heart of OxFed in a busy, challenging and fast-moving environment.  It will suit an experienced and self-motivated management accountant who enjoys being part of a close-knit team.
