Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a varied role in a firm with a dedicated and friendly team?

This Bookkeeper job in York is suitable for a QBE/AAT Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a public practice accountancy firm managing multiple clients. The vacancy has arisen due to recent expansion and is a key support role, working within a busy and friendly team. The role involves 80% bookkeeping and 20% payroll work.

A successful and dynamic independently owned Yorkshire accountancy firm, our client has several offices and the Bookkeeper Job will involve working across 2 offices easily accessible from York.  This Yorkshire based practice has a distinct focus on SME’s and Family Business, providing a wide range of services across the compliance and advisory spectrum.
 

The practice has a varied and growing client portfolio which centres around family owned and owner managed business. They now require a Bookkeeper with excellent communication skills and strong payroll exposure to support their client delivery team. 

The main responsibilities for this Bookkeeper Job will include;


Bookkeeping for a range of clients

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Resolving client queries
  • Running weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Other ad hoc administration tasks 
  • Visiting clients’ premises


Qualities required in the successful candidate are;

  • Self-motivated
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic

As the role will involve elevated levels of client contact and visits to client premises, the successful candidate must have confidence in communicating with people at all levels of seniority. Additionally, this Bookkeeper Job will require someone with a Full Driving licence.
