About the role
The Fundraising Finance Officer will support the Fundraising Finance Manager by undertaking financial duties across fundraising but will have responsibility for specific transactional reconciliations and month end. The role will be located at the Red Cross head office in Moorfields, London and you will be required to occasionally travel throughout the UK in order to foster a better understanding of the business through value adding communications and interactions with the operations team. It should also facilitate provision of a more robust, targeted and essential financial support.

About the team
The Fundraising Finance Officer role sits within the Finance Planning and Resources Directorate which ensures the organisation's effective management of its resources to meet the organisational strategy to focus on making a difference to people in crisis and ensure we are truly aligned to our mission, values and fundamental principles. Working across the organisation, the Directorate ensures that our money, and non-financial resources, for example property, project management resources, are effectively managed to ensure our funds are best used on front line service provision, as well as providing oversight of the management of risk and compliance. The Directorate works through strong organisational links with a focus on engagement through transparency and openness.

About the person
A Part Qualified Accountant (CCAB recognised body) or Qualified Accounting Technician, candidates should have:


  • Experience of accruals and prepayments

  • Experience in carrying out financial reconciliations

  • Experience of supporting the financial elements of Fundraising.

  • Strong financial and accounting skills

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships, internally/externally

  • Effective communication skills

  • Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SORP 2015

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and computerised accounts systems
