The UK Media Networks and Distribution Finance team is responsible for financial analysis, commercial support, collating the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for Programme Sales, Disney Channels, Disney Media Sales and Partnerships and Digital Distribution in the UK & Ireland.
This role will:

Be responsible for producing all key deliverables for Disney Media Sales and Partnerships (DMSP) and Disney Channels (DC.) The role will serve as a critical analytical finance resource to support, report and provide commercial insight to help deliver the next stage in the evolution of the UK DMSP & DC business, with the support of the finance manager Support the finance manager for EMEA & UK healthy living reporting and consolidation


Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

Gain understanding of the business, industry and region to provide relevant support to the organisation. Produce and maintain planning models for the forecast, AOP and 5 Year Plan for DMSP, DC and Healthy Living. Prepare summaries for planning cycles and present to UK & EMEA Senior Management highlighting key variances, risks and opportunities. Complete planning cycle templates for submission to EMEA DMSP & DC Regional Teams. Responsible for quarterly close (monitor bookings, heads-up), and quarter end reporting, analysis and communication to stakeholders. Day to day management of the risks and opportunities to deliver financial targets. Liaise with key stakeholders within DMSP/DC and Healthy Living to keep up to date with initiatives and developments and provide accurate forecasts. Bring any risks or opportunities to Management’s attention. Become proficient and main user of Cognos, Tethys and other reporting systems, in particular ensuring input and reconciliations to other systems and planning tools.


Commercial and Decision Support

Commercial Support: Establish open & collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, actively demonstrating where can add value. Providing insights, trend analysis and acting as a robust ‘sounding’ board for the teams Providing financial/commercial advice, analysis and sourcing information to assist with key decision making & strategic planning. Establish regular and relevant KPIs and highlight significant trends to be shared regularly with business managers, UK CFO and regional teams Establish a network of contacts across the UK country to ensure all deals are consistently, fairly, timely and accurately reported. Clearly demonstrating/representing the ‘value’ exchanged in each deal. Providing commercial guidance and best practise from deal initiation to recording and reporting the deal accurately and in compliance with The Walt Disney Company policies. Work with key stakeholders across DMSP, Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures, retail, marketing, legal, financial controllership and Burbank Lead ad hoc projects and analysis as required, where relevant in conjunction with other areas of the business.


Other

As a key member of the UK media finance team, work together, sharing best practices, discussing and learning from each other in a supportive, collaborative environment Co-manage and coach the Finance Intern in providing support in tracking and system management, as well as ad hoc analysis. Critically review processes, systems and procedures, recommend and instigate best practice


Suitable candidates will possess the following skills and experience:

University educated with excellent academic record (or equivalent proven work experience); ACA or CIMA qualified Demonstrated ability to work in a finance function at Finance Analyst level, with excellent attention to detail and modelling skills Experience of stakeholder management and presentation to non-finance people, as well as dealing with all levels of an organisation Experience and understanding of working in a commercial, multi-cultural and multinational business environment Experience of using SAP & Cognos, or similar accounting and reporting systems Interest in Media / Broadcast industry essential
